About KachinLingo

A joyful place to learn and grow with Jinghpaw.

KachinLingo helps children, families, and teachers learn through practical vocabulary, authentic audio, picture stories, and playful practice—wherever they call home.

Learn a little every day.

Our mission

Make language learning fun, free, and accessible.

Language holds the stories, humor, memory, and identity of a community. We are building KachinLingo so a new generation can hear Jinghpaw, use it with confidence, and carry it forward.

We believe progress begins with small, encouraging moments: one new word, one familiar voice, one story shared, and one more reason to return tomorrow.

Hello! I'm Sin Lum Awng Hpauyu. As a native Jinghpaw speaker, I design and build both the web and mobile apps while also creating the vocabulary, stories, games, and learning content behind them. KachinLingo was born from my desire to make Jinghpaw easier, more enjoyable, and accessible to children, families, and learners around the world. Through this platform, I hope to help preserve our language, culture, identity, and stories, and pass them on proudly to the next generation.

Hi, I'm Ja Seng Awng. I am one of the founders of KachinLingo. As a Kachin who moved to New Zealand at the age of seven, I experienced firsthand both the importance and challenges of holding on to my language in a foreign country. Through my experiences I’ve come to a realization that language is more than a way to communicate, it carries our identity, history, and culture. Through KachinLingo, I hope to inspire present and future generations to connect with their roots and keep our language alive. I lead the development of our learning content, support the platform's growth, and work with our community and partners to expand its reach.

Built with the community

KachinLingo grows through the voices, corrections, stories, and encouragement of learners, parents, teachers, and language contributors around the world.
